Lot description:

MOESIA INFERIOR, Dionysopolis. Antoninus Pius. AD 138-161. Æ (30mm, 17.94 g, 6h). Laureate head right / Dionysus standing facing, holding [cantharus] over panther in right hand, thyrsus in left. Jekov 1 (R10); Varbanov 431. VF, brown patina, light smoothing/cleaning marks in fields. Extremely rare issue, and finer than the published specimens.

This issue is larger than any other coins listed in Jekov's corpus of Dionysopolis. Its size and great rarity may point to it being some form of presentation or inaugural issue.
